The school was given a small allocation of tickets for the Olympic Weightlifting and over this last term staff have been noting those children who have displayed the Olympic values of respect (fair play; knowing one’s own limits; and taking care of one’s health and the environment), excellence (how to give the best of oneself, on the field of play or in life; taking part; and progressing according to one’s own objectives), friendship (how, through sport, to understand each other despite any differences). Mr Carroll then drew the ‘winners’ from these children. We hope they enjoy their Olympic experience! It’s also been very heartening to note just how many of our children DO display those values on a day-to-day basis. We’re very proud of all of them.
