St Mary’s is a ‘Healthy School’ – packed lunches or school lunches?

Ellen, our chef, makes us wonderful, healthy and tasty school dinners. But if you want your child to have a packed lunch, we’ve got some great ideas for you in a handout coming home in the next few days.

Please try to help your child eat five portions of fruit or vegetables a day, and please remember a child’s portion size is what fits into the palm of their hand! Children’s learning is greatly helped by having breakfast before they arrive in school, and by eating fresh, unprocessed food.

Look out for the new NHS ‘Change for Life’ initiative called ‘Smart ReStart’ – a fun way to help families get into great, new school-year eating and activity resolutions! See this all on:
